I nearly always have the Red-winged Blackbirds ---perhaps my location is why. Overall, I ususally get more females than males---they are frequently at the birdfeeders. I also have a family of Cardinals. It is interesting to see that the male feeds the waiting fledglings from the seed feeder. Two youngsters perch under the feeder on top of the baffle or in nearby bushes fluttering their wings in begging mode. Both look like the female except they are with black beaks. The male will approach one with seeds as many as ten times consecutively. He is busy!
