In the early 1970 s I observed and photographed a Black-whiskered Vireo on a nest at what is now Flamingo Gardens. I have no idea where the photographs are now or have more than a general idea of the date. In more recent years I have observed singing Black-whiskered Vireos during the summer at Robin s Park which is at the eastern end of Long Key and in nearby neighborhoods. In recent years they have also been observed singing in eastern Ft. Lauderdale neighborhoods with tree canopy and at Birch State Park but I have not seen or heard any this spring in these areas.
