Today, I (Alex) payed a short visit to the fields around Florida City in search of Upland Sandpipers reported outside of Everglades National Park. I was not able to find any Upland Sandpipers, but did see a couple interesting birds in a very short visit:
Black-bellied Plover- one; alternate plumage
Killdeer- many
Greater Yellowlegs- one
Pectoral Sandpiper- two
Sandhill Crane- three
Common Nighthawk- about thirty
Orange-winged Parrot- four; flying over Palmetto
Barn Swallow- many
Cave Swallow- about twenty in West Kendall
Felipe's sightings in the Matheson Hammock area:
Chimney Swift- three
Barn Swallow- about twenty
Red-eyed Vireo- two
Hill Myna- four
Prairie Warbler- ten
Yellow-throated Warbler- four
American Redstart- six
