I finally was able to spot the much-talked-about warbler this season (perhaps every season) the one and only Connecticut Warbler. Saw the bird on my way out, I was about to give up and when I least expected the bird flew close to one of the mulch paths in the park -OMG...I couldn't believe my eyes. I can't even tell you how close that bird came to me...i thought it was coming to eat in my hands!
Moving right along:
There were many Blackpolls (m&f)
Black-throated Blues (m&f)
A few Cape May Warblers
Several Yellow-billed Cuckoos
Red-eyed Vireo
Swainson's Thrush
Gray-cheeked Thrush
Lots of Waterthrushes on the ground
Lots of Common Yellowthroats
Some Ovenbirds
3 Ospreys - looked like a family
2 Spotted Sandpipers

Yesterday in my neighborhood there was a mini fall-out with hundred or so Blackpolls Warbler on some pine trees...more than Blackpolls than decorations on a Christmas tree during the holidays - they were coming from every direction you can imagine!

Also, Gray Kingbirds are finally in my area...
