At 10:15 AM today, Wed. 8-10, I had good looks at a smooth billed ani in the weedy field behind F. Z.T. in Key West. When I told a Ranger about it, she said it had been hanging around for a few days. In my limited experience, it's not too common a bird in the lower keys. There was also a prothonotary warbler and a black whiskered vireo in the shrubs along the moat. Good birding, Ron Hamburger
