Visiting from the UK and went to the Tortugas yesterday (1st May). Heavy Storm as we arrived resulted in a heavy fall of cuckoo with over 250+ Yellow billed and at least 2 Black billed.
Also 3 Thrush species including 4+ Veery, 13 Warbler sp, both Tanagers and several Bobolinks etc. Sadly no sign of the Fork tailed Flycatcher . Also last night we saw the Western Spindalis at the Botanical gardens in Key West. It was in a small fruiting bush on left just inside the main entrance gate.
This morning at Fort Zachary in Key West we saw an Antillean Short eared Owl and both Swainsons and Grey cheeked Thrushes before the rains came !!
