A terrific group of 32 birders assembled today for a stroll through Crandon Gardens and to check out the shorebirds, gulls and terns on the beach. Migrants were scarce but some of the breeding birds are returning and becoming active. The shorebirds were gladly using "Rangel's Roost" cordoned area, especially after Beach Rescue teams deliberately drove through the flocks twice.
