During a recent walk in the woods (Parkland) I came across a nest with four baby shrike that looked as though they should be "out and about". Mom/dad didn't appear for twenty minutes, fed one quickly and left. Meanwhile, about 100 feet away another shrike is building a nest in a wateroak. Would a shrike go for two in the same season, or is this another nesting pair? And so close? What is the territorial limit allowing that food source is plentiful. Any experts on this saucy little bird, field experiences, guesses?
