I made my rounds yesterday at Green Cay in the late afternoon. It rained most of the day, i decided to take my chances and got 44+ species just in the mudflats area (1/4 of the walk around the boardwalk).
The Highlights were:
A gorgeous posing Least Bittern (put cash on a female:)
Sign of Spring #1 Chimney Swift ( there were about 8 of them cruising in high altitude)
Sign of Spring #2 Least Tern ( A pair)
Solitary Sandpiper (1) and Wison's Snipe (1)
Northern Waterthrush ( couldn't get a photo...someday) (1)
Lots of Black-necked Stilts flying and fighting each other...
A half-dozen of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks
A gorgeous full breeding male Common Yellowthroat singing the most beautiful song i have ever heard on that species ( I thought i was hearing something exotic...the singing tone was deeper than what i have heard before).
Herons, Egrets, Teals, Grackles, Limpkins, vultures, and mostly Glossy Ibis present as well
A nice-looking immature Black-Crowned Night Heron flew by with some ruby eyes.
