Two traditional ENP spots for Wild Turkey are on Long Pine Key. 1) Head west on Research Road and before the Daniel Beard Center, there is a restoration area to the south. Park off the road and walk back toward the vegetation. The turkeys usually cross the road very early in the morning. 2) Drive south on the main park road and after passing the road to Long Pine Key Campground, there will be Gate 11 on the south side of the road. About a mile farther south is Gate 9. The trail connecting these two gates has several clumps of oak trees, where there is usually mast on the ground. The turkeys like this area.
