I forgot to add Western Sandpiper to the list.

: This morning Trey Mitchell and I set out early in search of shorebirds in the Homestead Area. The Lucky Hammock - 217th avenue area had no shorebirds except for a flock of around 50 Black-bellied Plovers on 217th Ave. south of 9336. We did find a nice flock of Cliff Swallows at the Greenway Park (Vermillion Flycatcher spot) feeding over the field to the south and west. The restoration entrance on Research Road had 2 Greater Yellowlegs, and there was a lone Least Sandpiper at Benito Juarez park. Trey told me about a site on 97th Avenue in Cutler Ridge that had some shorebirds a few days ago, so we headed there. Pay dirt! We had ~150 shorebirds including Pectoral (!), Semipalm, Least, Yellowlegs, Willet, Sanderling, Semipalmated Plover, and Ruddy Turnstone. Not bad considering it's 5 minutes from my house. The spot is located just south of Old Cutler Road where 224 St. curves to become 97th Ave. It's a large, flooded fields with mud banks and a dirst road in the middle. Looks like they're getting here.
