I had a White-tailed Kite this morning at the C-357 sparrow fields; it was perched on a snag south of the entrance. I see 1-2 kites there virtually every visit. Other birds tallied there this morning included Northern Harrier, Barn Owl (circling over my head), Western Kingbird, Eastern Towhee, Savannah and Grasshopper Sparrows, Indigo and Painted Buntings and Eastern Meadowlark. I had a dark-morph Short-tailed Hawk at Chekika.
