Continuation from Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge...
Yesterday was the molting Indigo Bunting... today it was the full plumage Indigo Bunting choice to appear for a minute before vanishing out of sight. I posted an update on the Great Horned Owl chicks - they are actually 6 weeks old tomorrow. The big brother was protecting the little pip squeak - see photo.
Gray Catbirds plentiful
Common Yellowthroat some
Many pairs of Red Cardinals
Northern Parula
Painted Buntings a few pairs but won't stop and pose - especially the male. Saw male and female Indigo Buntings
Glanced at an elusive Blue Grosbeak that chose to hide away from me. I am not adding a photo of a female Indigo Bunting because she's looking plain but if anyone wants the proof, i have it ready!
