White-crowned Pigeons

A trip down Aerojet Road (Lucky Hammock road) produced 68 (!) White-crowned Pigeons this afternoon. Most were seen between Southern Glades Youth Camp and end of road. Curiously, all birds that I saw were adults. Last July 23 I saw 25+ pigeons along the same stretch of road; again, all adults. Poisonwood is heavily fruiting now along the road.

Also of interest: Limpkin, Swallow-tailed Kite and 2nd year Roseate Spoonbill (at the racetrack). There are very few fields in that area that seem suitable for soon-to-be-arriving shorebirds.
