Ton being used here figuratively, of course. I made a quick stop to pick up a Bird-A-Day bird and found the trees around the stone picnic shelter dripping with birds. Many Yellow-rumped, Palm, and Parula. Several Black-and-whites, plus single Yellow-throated and Worm-eating Warblers. Two White-eyed Vireos, and at least 3 Yellow-throated Vireos, all singing. Also had a Blue-headed Vireo in the mix, and some lingering Gnatcatchers. All these wintering species can mean only one thing: warbler migration hasn't started. The day I get to Matheson and find 5 individual warblers of 3 species, then I know spring migration is in full swing! One Black-and-white was asking for directions to Georgiana'a yard.
BTW, the required leaf blower was working to the north.
