Maybe we are Razorbilled-out in South Florida? I hope not.

Peter Larson of Marathon just alerted me to 3 Razorbills seen about a 1/4 mile north of Pigeon Key, west of Marathon. Peter had spotted a young Razorbill earlier in the season, just off Vaca cut (Atlantic side Marathon). Following his lead, I went out in January and found two Razorbills against the westernmost side of Boot Key, one adult and an immature (presumably the bird he'd found) easily visible with a spotting scope. Photo captured of the young bird. I revisited the area again in mid-February but could not find them; however, it is possible these birds survived and stuck around. Anyone interested in pursuing the recent-most Razorbills (March 4) might be best off taking the ferry out to Pigeon Key.
