Black-and-white migration starts in early March. While your scenario is possible, most birds in new locations at that time are migrants. This probably includes Georgiana's bird.

The same applies to Parulas around the beginning of Feb., such as the "mini-waves" Robin often reports from Bill Baggs about that time.

Spring migration has been going on for over a month now and includes other mundane birds such as catbirds, Northern Parulas and Myrtle Warblers. It also includes less mundane birds such as Swallow-tailed Kites and Blue Grosbeaks.
