A large group of 27 birders meet at the Oscela Airboat pull off on RT 41, We got good views of Limpkin (4), Distant views of Snail Kite (1). Also Northern Flicker and Painted Bunting ( Thanks Anne).

Then at Shark Valley we got excellent views of nearly all the waders. Both night heron and all degrees of maturity.

11 cars progressed to Loop road. We had 8 species of Warblers including Ovenbird and Northern Waterthrush. We had Goldfinch (1). Eastern Towhee (2) heard. and Tufted Titmouse (1)
The highlight was a very close encounter with a Barred Owl.

A total of 64 Species. A fun day with great weather, good birding and our traditional fun picnic.
