have been to STA-1 West (off CR880 near Belle Glades, Florida) a few times before. NOT open Tuesday through Thursday!!! In any event, most times i have been there the more interesting birds are at a distance and the common ones close to the shore. Well, this time was just fine by me. I had a Duck Fiesta - sorry if the resolution on the Flickr prevents you from seeing this better. The Duck Fiesta was composed by: American Wigeon, Lesser Scaup, Cinnamon Teal, Gadwall, Ruddy duck (diff stages), Ring-necked duck, Northern Shoveler (f),Blue-winged teal, American Coot, Pied-billed Grebe, and if i wasn't too "drunk" at this Duck Fiesta, i'd say i may have what appears to be some winter plumage Masked Duck. Wow! I said what "appears to be" a winter plumage Masked Duck. That would have been something else!!! Mind you that not all may be included on this segment of the shot because they were widespread.
