I spent a few hours hiking out Jones Grade this Saturday (2/16) which is located in the northeast corner of Fakahatchee Strand State Park which is on the east side of SR 29 a little less than a mile south of I-75 (there is no sign). No really surprising birds were seen and the only birds singing were the Northern Parulas and White-eyed Vireos. Dingy Flowered Epidendrums were the only orchids I found in bloom and the only butterflies around were Zebra Longwings, White Peacocks, and a single Tropic Queen.
