Green Cay Wetlands- Several birders managed to get looks of the La Sagra's Flycatcher that, despite the wind, was fairly vocal at the east end of the parking lot. The winds kept most of the birds low, but American Robins and Cedar Waxwings may have come along with the front.

Wakodahatchee Wetlands- I failed the relocate any of the Neotropical Cormorants that nested here, as they may have already fledged their young. However, a Fulvous Whistling Duck was resting among the twenty-one Black-bellied Whistling Ducks that frequent the wetlands. A Virginia Rail was a heard only.

Wellington Environmental Preserve- The preserve itself offered few birds in comparison to the previous wetlands. Aside from several Limpkins, the most notable birds could be seen from atop the observation tower. Looking west towards STA-1E (correct?), I could see several hundred ducks in the distance among hundreds of coots and waders. Of the few ducks I could identify were Gadwalls and Northern Pintails in flight, as well as groups of Ring-necked Ducks. Two female Snail Kites were also there. Birds were difficult to identify even with the use of a scope.

Lastly, one of the two Black-legged Kittiwakes is still in Manatee County (south of St. Petersburg). I would be interested in making the trek there soon if anyone would like to join.

Alex
