Having to be in Boca early this morning, afterwards I went over to Green Cay (midmorning) to see what I could find in the cold and blustery breeze. The best bird of the day was the LA SAGRA'S FLYCATCHER which has been there the better part of the winter; I picked up the movement low in the oak behind the maintenance shed; it hawked for insects a couple of times and gave its characteristic doublet call notes; after about 5 minutes it flew back into the hammock.
Other birds of note were quite a few American Robins, lots of Rough-winged and Tree Swallows, and 3 Purple Martins that have arrived. Only 1 Sora but it was out in the open; Painted Buntings, Blue-headed Vireo, and 3 warblers (Palm, Yellowthroat, Yellow-rumped) were also around, but harder to locate due to wind.
My complete list is being posted to eBird
