Just got back from 6 days of kayaking from Marco Island to Everglades City. Saw all manner of shorebirds, raptors, and gulls but I was most excited about a common loon I saw foraging in West Pass Bay on the 11th and then a western spindalis on panther key on the 12th. Both times I was unable to get to the camera in time...figures. I also had two smal dives spook as I was walking around gullivan key, might have been common ground doves but I didn't get a good enough look to be sure. I attached a photo of some Western Sandpipers, ruddys, short billed dowitchers, and sanderlings for good measure.
