Five joined me for a foggy Saturday morning taking photos at Anhinga Trail. There were many park visitors and many with cameras. We spent time taking pictures and shooting video of the many photo ops on the trail. An American Bitter was putting on a show for everyone. Moving at about 1 inch per 10 minutes until it decided to snatch a fish from the water for breakfast.
The Gators where putting on a show as well. They were very active for February, but I guess with the warm winter they have plenty of energy. At the alligator overlook the male gators were groaning and displaying. There were the usual subjects posing for pictures.
Late morning we headed over to Long Pine Key to see what was there for use to see. We spent a few minutes birding the trees near the picnic benches then we ate Lunch. After lunch we walked the trail through Mozur Hammock and the adjoining prairie in search of anything interesting. Joe Barros answer question we had about some of the plants and flowers we saw along the way.
We finished the day around 2:30 in the park as we all went our own way. Thanks to everyone who participated. I'm posting a few photos and I hope others will as well.
Next year I think maybe we could start down in Flamingo and work our way back through the park. Eco-Pond is becoming a great place to take photos, especially in the morning.
