The two Red-breasted Nuthatches at Jupiter Ridge Natural Area were seen and photographed this morning in the Sand Pines south of the paved trail. Jupiter Ridge Natural Area is located in Jupiter on the west side of US 1 a mile or two north of Donald Ross Road. Several Florida Scrub Jays were also seen in the Scrub Oak sections of the site one of which tried to land on my notebook while I was writing.
The La Sagra s Flycatcher at Green Cay Nature Center began calling repeatedly at about 4:45 this afternoon and finally came out in to the open at around 5:15 in the Cypress trees east of the parking lot between the entrance and the maintenance building.
