I haven't been a birdwatcher since my parents took me on counts as a little girl, but this experience may convert me. I was just out for my evening walk in a dense residential area of Lake Worth and saw a bird perched on the peak of a roof. I can't figure out what it was. As close as I've come is a female Indian Peafowl (aka peahen). From what I'm seeing online, they CAN sometimes be found in Florida, although usually just in captivity, and the size and primary color was about right; however, I don't think this one had the green on its neck or the lighter colored breast. It did have the fan-shaped feathers on its crown. Can anyone help me figure out what I saw? (I may have to start taking a camera on my walks!) Thanks.
