Spent from 7:00 am-8:30 am this morning birding the western portion of the annex. I did not drive the road at all besides pulling in. The very first opportunity to go right (west) I made it and checked the surrounding area. Once on the west side of the canal I went south on the path between the Strangler Figs. I found a vocal Least Flycatcher and Northern Waterthrush. From there I checked a spot where a continuing Louisiana Waterthrush was seen earlier in the month but no luck. I did pick up an American Bittern. Once I got back to where I started I went further west to the bee boxes. Here I found Indigo Buntings, Savannah, Grasshopper, Swamp, Lincoln's and a single juvenile Clay-colored Sparrow.
