Some early birding this morning had calling Whip-poor-wills and at least 2 Barred Owls perched then flying around the Annex at 6:30 a.m. Other highlights were the Ash-throated Flycatcher perched on the fence at the intersection of 9336 and Aerojet Rd. around 7:30 a.m. Around Lucky Hammock and the fields to the west of it we had the Brown-crested Flycatcher, Painted Bunting, 2 Wilson's Snipe flew overhead, House and Sedge Wrens, and Swamp Sparrow. The Vermillion Flycatcher was seen at its usual spot at the canal, but no Kingbirds were seen.
