Oh, here are my bird sightings for yesterday at Wakodahatchee (species besides the Black-bellied Whistling Ducks):

LEAST BITTERN (MORE THAN ONE!)
GREAT BLUE HERON
TRICOLORED HERON (SOME FISHING {HUNTING})
BOAT-TAILED GRACKLE
RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER (TAPPING FOR INSECTS ON BAT HOUSE)
NORTHERN CARDINAL (MALE AND FEMALE CHASING EACHOTHER)
SNOWY EGRET
GREAT EGRET
EASTERN MEADOWLARK (BUILDING NEST, THEN FLEW OUT SO I COULD GET A BETTER VIEW OF IT)
RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD
COMMON MOORHEN (BABIES TOO!)
PURPLE GALLINULE (ONE WAS FEEDING ON ALLIGATORFLAG SEEDS)
AMERICAN COOT (BABIES INCLUDED!)
NIGHT HERON (YOUNG - NOT SURE IF BLACK-CROWNED OR YELLOW-CROWNED)
GREEN HERON (SOME FISHING {HUNTING})


*AS FOR OTHER NON-FEATHERED SIGHTINGS, I SAW SOME RACCOONS AND RABBITS, PLUS ONE ALLIGATOR.
