Speedway Area-Shiny Cowbirds

A brief trip on Sunday morning in the Homestead Speedway area produced a family of Shiny Cowbirds, including the juvenile male ID'd by Paul on Mowry Rd. (S.W. 320th Street). The birds were on the fence abutting the Farm Share Packing House.

There was little else of note; there were no smaller shorebirds at all-- other than the resident Black-necked Stilts and Killdeer, there was only a flock of about 25 Black-bellied Plovers.

That afternoon, I enjoyed planting a Paradise Tree and a new Green Buttonwood in my yard, thanks to the TAS Native Plant Sale.....
