The flock of "Cortadito" Bronzed Cowbirds that has wintered near La Carreta at SW 87th Ave and 40th St (Bird Road) in Miami-Dade has continued to grow over the past five or so years from a few individuals to well over forty birds this year. Numbers seem to surge in the late afternoons when all the various blackbirds and starlings congregate to roost.
