Great blue babies nearing the flight time. The two are still active, but nest bound. Looking a little bedraggled in the rain 4/14: the green heron lost its clutch of eggs to a raccoon. So much for that sighting. Grebe has one baby on her back, several bitterns present, and frequent sound but no sight on the limpkin. The wood duck is still in close association with two mottled ducks. Several coots and gallinules had chicks out but the numbers were quite small; 2 and 3 each. Check the nest east of the former green heron nest, one visitor claimed it was an oriole but wasn't exact on the description. It sits in the upper reaches of the bayberry. The blue-winged teal is still present...maybe nesting? The black-necked stilts are flying about...so who is watching the nest if any? And finally, the anhingas are all puffy white, noisy, and making a non-stop commotion. Wakodahatchee is at peace.
