Paul -- Both the adult and younger bird (starting to get a bit of red on the nape) were on the west side of Matheson Hammock on Tuesday. Enter the west side as follows: From the intersection of Old Cutler and N. Kendall Drive (SW 88 St), go west a short way and turn left (south) on School House Road (SW 52 Ave.) Go to a fork and bear right into a large grassy area. Follow this to the end and I believe there is actually signed handicapped parking. If the birds are in the immediate area, you may be able to view them from your van. You'll be able to get quite close to the area where they hang out. This area on the west side of Matheson is known informally as a dog park. The map is small so you'll have an overview of the area, but you can use the coordinates to make your own Google Earth map.
