Keeping up C.J. Grimes's Lucky Hammock tradition, I found a Bell's Vireo at 8 AM. It was in a Jamaican Dogwood on the east edge of the hammock and gave its distinctive scold a couple of times. At 8:40 AM it sang twice, but deep inside the hammock. The Ash-throated Flycatcher was very visible around the hammock, frequently giving it's "krip" call. A Least Flycatcher was across from Lucky Hammock and there were 2 Great Crested Flycatchers in the area. A Brown-crested Flycatcher was farther south in the Annex, at the first wooden fishing platform. Four Clay-colored Sparrows were on the east side of Aerojet Road.
At C-111 Canal, the Tropical Kingbird, 2 Western Kingbirds and the female Vermilion Flycatcher were on the north side. The male Vermilion was near the pump structure.
