I have to thank Al Pelligrinelli for having reported this unique species on New Year's Day on the northern portion of Spanish River Park. After an hour and half walking and searching for the Western Spindalis and almost giving up it flew onto a Gumbo Limbo tree right in front of me. For bird lovers it is certainly amazing to see such a beautiful species right on the first of the year. I have relocated the bird today 150 ft east of where i found it - northern portion of Spanish River park in Boca Raton. I am attaching photos front and back for anyone's delight. I also had the pleasure of meeting Al Pelligrinelli and bumping into Rick Schofield who is a very pleasant birder to chat and find birds with. I'd like to share with Tom Smith and Linda that i also have seen and photographed a large group of American Golfinches in the same area of the park. I What are you both waiting for? I am hoping that the attachment works fine. If not, i'll retry.
