Trey Mitchell and I went there last Saturday. We began at dawn on the boardwalk, where we did not see Flamingoes, nor the hoped-for Clapper Rails. The tide was still incoming, so perhaps high tide may be more productive. We did see plenty of Spoonbills, Marbled Godwits, Western Sandpipers, Willets, and Dunlin, along with the usual waders. A spotting scope will be a big plus (we did not have one). Heard one Mangrove Cuckoo from the boardwalk, and saw at least one Gull-billed Tern. Eco Pond and Bear Lake had nothing. Mosquitoes were surprisingly missing as we walked in before first light, but they were pretty thick on the way out. Hope this helps. Best of luck if you go.
