I started the day off at the C-111 Canal, where I quickly found both Vermilion Flycatchers. At Lucky Hammock I found a Tropical Kingbird, Brown-crested and Great-crested Flycatchers, Northern Harrier, light and dark morphs of Short-tailed Hawk, a pair of Sandhill Cranes, Savannah Sparrow and a flock of American Robins. About a hundred yards past the yellow gate in the Annex I got a quick, not very good look at a small, slim, pale Myiarchus. I wonder if this could have been the Ash-throated Flycatcher that was reported from this general area late last year?

Castellow Hammock still has at least one Rufous Hummingbird, and Cutler Wetlands had American White Pelican, American Avocet, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, and a large flock of Long-billed Dowitchers.
