Well, you will have to do some thinking on how much you want to see these birds, because the mosquitoes are horrible. Both species are out there year round, more so the Roseate Spoonbills. A spotting scope is recommended.

It is possible to see Roseate Spoonbills at Mrazek Pond or Paurotis Pond in Everglades National Park, but bugs will still be bad at these locations.

Seaside Sparrows can be seen (but mostly heard) in the flooded prairie after the turnoff to Mahogany Hammock along the main road. Look for the birds singing from the tops of the grass.

Shiny Cowbirds can be found by diving the large parking area of Flamingo and searching though the blackbird flocks. Then you can scramble up the second floor to the Flamingo Visitor center and look for birds at low or mid tide from the safety of the second floor. Again, a scope is recommended, and sometimes you can borrow a scope from the rangers in the visitor center. Sometimes they will give it to you, sometimes they won't. In the summer months, you can find Black Skimmers and Willets on the exposed sand bar.

Take a years supply of bug spray, long pants, jacket, and something to cover your eyes. I believe they sell mosquito jump suits down there.
