The new year is only a couple days old and I only have 55 species so far but it is definitely quality vs quantity right now. So far I have been able to pick up Brown-crested Flycatcher (originally found during the Long Pine Key CBC on the road that leads to the mound), Tropical Kingbird (Lucky Hammock), Vermilion Flycatcher (C-111), MacGillivray's Warbler (Tropical Park) and Red-headed Woodpecker (Matheson Hammock). With the possibilty of the Western Spindalis still lurking around the mountain bike trails and Robin's La Sagra's Flycatcher things might get interesting this first week of January! I will be blogging my county big year if anyone is interested in following: www.epicbigyear2013.blogspot.com.
