Help With Red-Bellied Woodpeckers

I mounted an Audubon wren house on my fence last year and the other day a male and female Red-bellied Woodpecker took turns pecking at the opening, I think, to make it larger for entry. Can someone tell me what size, dimensions, etc. I need to build a woodpecker home for this species? Thanks.
