Others have already given you their recommendations. The problem with some (like Spanish River Park) is that they are very birdy at certain times of the year but not right now.

It's too bad that you are here for such a short time. I would have recommended the Audubon of the Everglades field trip to STA-1E, west of West Palm Beach, but the next one is on 1/5/2013. The Hendry/Glades Audubon offers a trip to STA-5 which is also a must-see trip but that is a 2 1/2 hour drive from the Delray area. Their next trip is 12/29/2012. You need to make reservations and I'm not sure if there are any available slots right now.

Of the sites mentioned by others (in addition to Wakodahatchee, Green Cay, and Loxahatchee NWR), I would recommend the Wellington Environmental Preserve on Flying Cow Road off of Southern Blvd west of Wellington.

As the new leader of the Loxahatchee Wednesday morning birdwalks, I'd suggest that as well but your schedule doesn't work for that.
