Just FYI, pretty much no other site you visit will have anywhere near the volume or density of birds as Wako and Green Cay...those two are very unique not just in Florida but even anywhere in the states for the sheer volume of birds, and ones that are nearly fearless with human presence. But each of these other sites may have a few birds that you might see there that you wouldn't see at GC or Wako...and that makes them worth a visit if you've got time. For example, Wellington Wetlands is very reliable for snail kites and loggerhead shrikes, Gumbo Limbo is one of the few places I've spotted chuck-will's widows and also they have the adorably cute spotted skunks, at Daggerwing I've had good luck with pileated woodpeckers, and Pond Hawk which is a new spot has been pretty decent and reliable for merlins and terns, and seem to have already drawn painted buntings. No guarantees at any of these of course, but those are the reasons I keep trying those sites, to get the birds I don't usually get at Wako or GC.
