scoters and Razorbills continue off Key Biscayne

In a quick scan offshore at 8:15 this morning, I immediately found a flock of 50 dark scoters (assumed to be Black Scoters) flying south. As I scanned northward, a flock of 20-22 Razorbills took off from the north end of Crandon and flew toward the south jetty of Government Cut. Several birders were on the north jetty and may have seen them come in or fly by. The Razorbills give a new meaning to "yard list."

At 10 AM I could find neither species and the gannet parade had slowed considerably. Adults still seem to outnumber young birds by a big margin.
