Birders were at Virginia Key from dawn until dusk 12/10 and the Spindalis was a no-show. The Dark-morph Short-tailed provided awesome looks, especially as it devoured a lizard on the wing. Others report seeing the Great Black-Hawk again near the Virginia Key toll. I noticed on the FL RBA listserve that a male Western Spindalis was seen yesterday at Hugh Taylor State Park.
