Thick-billed Vireo and La Sagra's Flycatcher 5/12

The Thick-billed Vireo was seen singing at its usual spot at Anne Kolbe Nature center from about 3:15 to 3:30 this afternoon.

The La Sagra s Flycatcher was heard by other birders at H. T. Birch State Park earlier in the day but there was no sign of it while I was in there between 4:15 and 6:45 PM. The road that loops through the north end of the park was closed for most of the day for resurfacing and will also be closed tomorrow but birders were allowed access later in the day. The work is also scheduled for tomorrow but won t be going on over the weekend and the road will be open. The noise and heavy truck traffic may have had something to do with the bird not being seen today.
