I drove up to Big Pine Key this morning in search of reported Bahama
Swallows. No luck. They were said the be seen in the first quarter- to
half-mile of the closed-off section of Paradise Road, and I walked all
the way to the end (about a mile and a half) to the coastal area but
saw nothing I could remotely confuse with them, try as I might.

Had Black-necked Stilts and Semi-palmated Plovers as a consolation
prize, though. And a pair of tardy Broad-winged Hawks on the drive
home.

Happy Trails,
