I made a few stops on my way home from a birding class today at Royal Palm in Everglades National Park. The male Vermilion Flycatcher continues at the C111 Canal and SR 9336. At least two and possibly three "Rufous" Hummingbirds continue at Castellow Hammock Park. The "Tropical" Kingbird continues at the entrance to the C357 sparrow fields on SW 168 Street. I played recordings of both Couch's and Tropical in close proximity to the bird. Couch's elicited no response, while Tropical consistently resulted in the bird flying to another perch. It never vocalized, though.

The only bird of note seen at Royal Palm was a dark-morph Short-tailed Hawk circling over the parking lot.
