After talking to Toe at Kolb Nature center, I arrived at Baggs about 11:30. The plethora of warblers described by Robin were nowhere to be seen, although there were plenty of redstarts, and a few female bt blues. After two and a half hours at the site on the pond trail north of the cross trail, and another site near the bathroom where a Palm Beach birder had reported a second Connecticut, I had only an oven bird and two northern waterthrushes. Could the southeast winds have induced an early take-off?
