Started my day at Tropical Park with my brother and Daphne Rodriguez looking for Larry's MacGillivray's. Rock Jetty soon joined and the pineland area was FULL of American Goldfinches feeding on the Australian Pine but not a single Pine Siskin. By 9 am the bird was relocated in the thickets across the Brazilian Pepper but only gave fleeting views. Between 9:45 and 10:15 the bird was the most active being very vocal making it easy to track. We left at 11 am and hadn't seen or heard the bird for a while by then. Mike and I made our way over to Flamingo campground to try for the Lapland Longspur that was reported. We had no luck with the bird after walking around most of the afternoon. We also checked in on the shorebirds at the campground and had Marbled Godwit, Willet, American Avocet, Stilt Sandpiper, Lesser Yellowlegs, Dunlin and Black-bellied Plover.
