Migrants were few and far between this morning at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Evidence was American Redstart, Black-and-white, 9 Prairie Warblers and a patrolling Merlin. The only excitement was a very vocal Yellow-breasted Chat on the interior trail between Ponds 3 and 4. It was doing its repertoire of goofy "songs." With a Gray Catbird and a very rusty Common Yellowthroat singing in the same Cocoplum bush, it sounded like a small symphony orchestra warming up.
I take it as a positive sign that birds don't have to stop, and can go on to Turkey Creek or Ft. De Soto. But, darn it, I wish some would drop by here.....
